Ms. Anna Kugler, 4th & 5th Grade; Choir
Miss Kugler received a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Pedagogy from Concordia University, Seward, NE. She then completed the coursework required for a teaching certificate. She worked in Nebraska, Wisconsin, and Ohio before returning to Washington, the state where she was raised, to join St. Paul's staff in 2017. Miss Kugler enjoys hiking and camping. She also likes reading, doing needlework, and participating in music-related activities.
Mrs. Ann Black, 3rd Grade
Ann attended college at Redlands University , CA and Cal State at Long Beach. She graduated with a BA and continued for a fifth year to qualify for her teaching certificate. She began teaching at St. Paul's in 1994. Ann is married and has three children and seven grandchildren. She enjoys spending time with family, reading and sewing.
Mrs. Charyl Baziak, 2nd Grade
Charyl was born in Los Angeles, California and graduated from La Verne University, CA. She graduated with a Masters of Education. She’s taught in elementary school since 1998. Over the years she has taught in kindergarten through fifth grade. She began teaching at St. Paul's in 2015. Since moving to Wenatchee she has enjoyed experiencing the natural beauty and charms of Wenatchee. She enjoys spending time with family, reading, hiking and eating pizza, and she especially enjoys going to the county fair.
Mrs. Star Downey, 1st Grade
Star attended college at Lesley University, Central Washington University, Evergreen State College, and Wenatchee Valley College. She graduated with a Masters of Education focusing on Technology in Education. She also holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, and a K-8 teaching certificate. She began her teaching career in Lima, Peru where she studied and then taught 3rd grade. She taught for 5 years in Wenatchee, teaching 1st and 2nd grades. She has most recently been teaching in a behavior modification classroom and counseling young children. Star is married and has 2 children. She enjoys spending time with family, scrapbooking, swimming, and making cakes for family celebrations.
Mrs. Kaylie Barcus, Kindergarten
Kaylie attended college at Concordia University in Irvine, California. She graduated with a BA in Education with a concentration in Lutheran Education and holds her preliminary teaching credential. Kaylie started teaching at St. Paul’s in 2016. She is married and enjoys the outdoors and fishing with her husband. Kaylie also enjoys spending time with her husband and friends, reading, sewing, crocheting, painting, and gardening.
Mrs. Angela Brown, Young 5; Art
Angela joined the St. Paul's staff in 2017.
Mrs. Jan Shrable, Preschool/Pre-Kindergarten
Jan began teaching Pre-Kindergarten at St. Paul’s Lutheran School in the fall of 1993. Previously, she taught Pre-Kindergarten at Wenatchee Christian Academy. This is her 30th year teaching. She has an AA degree from Wenatchee Valley College. Jan is married and has 2 children. She has lived in the valley for 40+ years. Her hobbies and interests are biking, cross country skiing, exercising at the “Y”, sewing, scrap booking, knitting, needle work, and she is not into sweets.
Mrs. Terri Kleinfeldt, Preschool/Pre-Kindergarten
Terri joined the St. Paul’s early childhood staff in 2013. She was born in Willows, California and graduated from Northwest Christian University in Eugene, Oregon. Terri is married to Pastor Dave Kleinfeldt and they have 2 daughters. In her free time she enjoys spending time with family, watching movies, and exercising.
Ms. Summer Rider, Director of St. Paul's Childcare Center
Summer was raised in the Wenatchee Valley. She graduated from Wenatchee Valley College with an ATS in Early Childhood Education. She received her BA and MA in Human Development from Pacific Oaks College Seattle campus. She's taught in early childhood for over 10 years in a variety of settings including childcare, preschool, and early intervention. She spent 8 years home raising her young children and joined St. Paul's in 2015. She is also an adjunct instructor for the early childhood education program at WVC. In her free time she enjoys reading and crafts.
Mrs. Lisa Day, Administrative Assistant
Lisa has a BA in Social Sciences with a minor in Business Administration. She joined the St. Paul's staff in June 2009 after 10 years as a stay-at-home-mom. Lisa is married with 3 children and enjoys reading, camping, crafts, and spending time with family.
Pastor Mark Hein
Pastor Mark has served as pastor of St. Paul’s since 2002. He has an undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice from Washington State University and he received his Master of Divinity degree at Concordia Seminary in St. Louis. Pastor Mark is honored to provide for the spiritual care of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and School families and staff. Leading chapels and grillin’ hot dogs are always a highlight. His wife Mona serves as secretary in the church office.
Mrs. Sarah Floyd, Physical Education Specialist
Sarah graduated from Eastern Washington University with a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies combining her dual studies of Health and Fitness and Elementary Education. She has worked at St. Paul’s since 2011. Sarah's life-long dream has been to teach P.E. and work with children. She enjoys games, the outdoors and curling up with a good book.
Ms. Sandy Morris, Elementary Aide
Sandy joined St. Paul's team in 2003. She started as a Pre-K aide for Karen Brown and worked in the childcare center. She has a very special friend who got her "hooked on the Huskies". She is a "Huskie at Heart":) Sandy has 2 children, 3 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild. She enjoys reading, camping and spending time with family.
Mrs. Tara Breidert, Administrator
Tara joined the St. Paul's staff in 2017.
